Can this be arranged without me travelling to Georgia?
Most of it, yes. We keep in contact by phone and WhatsApp and carry out what is needed here. If a stage genuinely requires a relative to be present in person, you hear about it in advance rather than at the last moment.
How do we know the cost before agreeing to anything?
A transfer abroad is quoted individually, since the destination, the airline and the documents all affect it. Inside Georgia the figures are known: transport in the city from 150 GEL, and from 2.5 GEL per kilometre across the country. Cremation is by arrangement only.
Does the time difference slow everything down?
